EASE has been working with farmers to establish and strengthen farmer cooperatives in the Upper River Region. A recent training session brought together 40 farmers to learn about cooperative formation, management, and collective marketing strategies.
The training covered topics including cooperative governance, financial management, group dynamics, and market access. Participants learned how cooperatives can help farmers access better markets, negotiate better prices, and share resources.
"Forming a cooperative will help us work together and achieve more than we could individually," said one farmer. "We're excited to put what we learned into practice."
Several new cooperatives have been formed as a result of this training, and EASE will continue to provide support as they develop and grow.
