The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration between the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). It supports international students for PhD studies in science and engineering at Singaporean universities. The program aims to foster a vibrant research community and attract global talent. The application window for the August 2027 intake is expected to open in June 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be international students (including from African countries) with a passion for research and excellent academic results. Must have a Bachelor's degree with Honours or equivalent, or a Master's degree. Good written and communicated English skills. Not a Singapore citizen or permanent resident. All nationalities are welcome to apply.
Financial Benefits
Fully funded, including full tuition fees, a monthly stipend (S$2,200 for PhD students, increasing to S$2,700 after passing qualifying exam), one-time airfare grant (up to S$1,500), and one-time settling-in allowance (S$1,000).
