uni-assist Application Service for German Universities

Category

Bachelors, Masters & PhD

Details

uni-assist is the work and service point for international student applications. It processes applications for around 170 universities in Germany. The service evaluates international school and university certificates to determine their equivalence to German educational standards. It provides a centralized platform where applicants can submit documents once and apply to multiple universities. The platform handles the administrative review, while the universities make the final admission decisions. Note that uni-assist charges a handling fee for the evaluation and processing of documents.

Eligibility Criteria

This is a link to uni-assist, the central service point for international student applications to German universities. Students are encouraged to:
Use the 'Check: university admission' tool on the website to see if their certificates qualify for study in Germany
Explore the 'uni-assist universities' list to find member institutions
Check the 'Admissions' or 'Apply' section of specific German universities for program-specific requirements
Prepare certified copies of certificates and language proficiency proofs as required by the target universities
Verify if the specific university requires a Preliminary Review Documentation (VPD) from uni-assist

Financial Benefits

This link directs to the uni-assist application portal, which is a processing service and not a funding body. To find scholarship and financial aid information:
Visit the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) website to search for scholarships for international students
Navigate to the 'Scholarships', 'Financial Aid', or 'International Office' sections on the websites of the specific German universities you are applying to
Check for Deutschlandstipendium or other merit-based funding opportunities offered by German institutions
Note that applying via uni-assist requires payment of handling fees (typically EUR 75 for the first application and EUR 30 for each additional one)
