•Must be a domestic or international student.

•Must be enrolling or enrolled in an accredited Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program (Masters by Research or PhD) at the Australian National University (ANU).

•Must have achieved a minimum of First Class Honours or equivalent academic standing.

•Must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth Government designed to offset HDR fees.

•Must not be receiving income from another source to support general living costs while undertaking the course of study if that income is greater than 75% of the RTP Stipend rate.

The Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education. It is awarded to students of exceptional research potential undertaking a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at the Australian National University. The scholarship assists with general living costs and is highly competitive, awarded based on academic merit and research potential.

•Fortnightly stipend (living allowance) for the duration of the award (typically 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for Masters).

•Travel and relocation allowances for students relocating to Canberra to commence their program.

•Thesis allowance to assist with thesis production costs.

•Dependent child allowance (for eligible international students).

•Paid medical, maternity, and paternity leave.

•Standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students and their eligible dependents.
