Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled in or applying for a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at Deakin University.
Applicants must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth intended to offset HDR fees.
Applicants must not be receiving a stipend from another source that is greater than 75% of the RTP or DUPRS stipend rate.
International students must meet Deakin's English language requirements.
Applicants must meet the entry requirements for a Research Doctorate or Research Masters degree at Deakin University.
Domestic students must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen.
Details
The Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships are funded by the Australian Government, while the Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarships (DUPRS) are funded by Deakin University. Both programs provide support to domestic and international students undertaking Research Doctorate or Research Masters degrees. These scholarships are highly competitive and are awarded based on academic merit and research potential. The scholarship duration is up to three years for a Research Doctorate and up to two years for a Research Masters degree.
Financial Benefits
Stipend: A tax-free living allowance of approximately $34,402 per annum (indexed annually).
Relocation Allowance: A payment of $500 to $1,500 for students who relocate to take up their Higher Degree by Research.
Tuition Fee Offset: A 100% tuition fee waiver for the duration of the scholarship.
Health Cover: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students (standard single policy).
Paid Leave: Provisions for sick leave, maternity leave, and parental leave.
