•Be a citizen of an African Development Bank (AfDB) regional member country

•Hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in energy, agriculture, health, engineering, or related development fields with superior academic records

•Have at least 1 to 3 years of recent professional development-related work experience after obtaining a Bachelor's degree

•Be in good health, both physically and mentally

•Be residing and working in an African country at the time of application

•Not be an executive director, alternate, or staff member of any AfDB Group entity

The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) Program is a joint initiative of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Japan. The program provides two-year Master's degree scholarships to outstanding African graduate students in key development fields such as energy, agriculture, technology, environment, and healthcare. Scholars pursue post-graduate studies at selected partner universities in Japan or regional centers of excellence in Africa to gain skills and expertise required for driving sustainable socio-economic development across Africa.

•Full tuition fees covered for the duration of the 2-year Master's degree program

•Round-trip economy class air travel between recipient's home country and host institution

•Monthly living stipend covering living expenses, accommodation, and food

•Basic medical and health insurance coverage

•Allowance for books, research work, and thesis preparation
