Eligibility

•Must be a woman who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (non-immigrant visa holders residing in the U.S. are eligible)

•Must hold an academic degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree completed by the application deadline

•Must intend to devote full time to the proposed academic plan during the fellowship year

•Must intend to return to home country to pursue a professional career upon completion of studies

•Must demonstrate English language proficiency (via valid test scores or degree earned from an English-instructed institution)

•Applicants for Master's/First Professional and Doctoral degrees must be enrolled or applied to an accredited U.S. institution for the fellowship year

Details

AAUW International Fellowships have been awarded since 1917 to support women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. A limited number of awards are available for study outside the U.S. to members of International Federation of University Women (IFUW) affiliates. Preference is given to women who show commitment to the advancement of women and girls through civic, community, or professional work.

•Master's / First Professional Degree Fellowship: $20,000

•Doctoral Fellowship: $25,000

•Postdoctoral Fellowship: $50,000
