•Must be an international applicant residing outside Japan applying for an APU Master's or Doctoral degree program

•Must have outstanding academic performance with a minimum GPA of 2.30 out of 3.00 on the MEXT scale

•Must hold nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan

•Must be born on or after April 2, 1992 (under 35 years of age)

•Must meet APU's English language proficiency requirement (e.g., TOEFL iBT 85+, IELTS 6.5+, or equivalent)

•Must be able to obtain a 'Student' visa and arrive in Japan during the designated period

The Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship with University Recommendation is awarded to outstanding international graduate students recommended by Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU). Applicants apply directly for graduate admission to APU, and eligible applicants are nominated by the university to the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for final selection.
