•Must be a recognized refugee or asylum seeker residing in Rwanda

•Must have successfully completed secondary school education with high academic performance

•Must be aged 28 years or younger at the time of application

•Must be admitted to or applying for an undergraduate degree program at an accredited higher education institution in Rwanda

•Must demonstrate financial need and a strong commitment to community development

•Must not be receiving any other academic scholarship or financial assistance

UNHCR Rwanda, in partnership with executing partners, announces the call for applications for the DAFI (Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative) Scholarship Programme for the 2026-2027 academic year. The scholarship offers qualified refugee students in Rwanda the opportunity to pursue undergraduate degrees at accredited higher learning institutions in Rwanda, aiming to foster self-reliance and support refugee youth in achieving higher education.

•Full tuition fees coverage for the entire duration of undergraduate studies

•Monthly living allowance/stipend to support food and housing

•Book and study materials allowance

•Local transportation allowance

•Academic and psychosocial support from UNHCR and partner organizations
